Avotec was formed more than fifteen years ago to fill a void in the MR industry for an audio system that was actually designed for MR use, instead of a stereo system that was modified for MR. The resulting Silent Scan™ Hearing Protection and Communication system has since become the benchmark for MR audio systems.

The Silent Vision™ Fiber Optic Glasses system was developed to provide an MR-safe visual presentation system. The Silent Vision™ fiber optic system is still the world’s only MR-inert visual presentation system. And an accompanying series of Silent Vision™ LCD projectors has provided a range of both economical and sophisticated visual system solutions.

As visual presentation for research purposes become more prevalent, particularly for fMRI work, Avotec’s Real Eye™ Eye Monitoring system provided a ready solution to monitor patient eye movement. When first incorporated into the Silent Vision fiber optic glasses, the Real Eye™ system provided an unprecedented capability for simultaneous visual presentation and eye monitoring/tracking. The Real Eye family has since expanded to incorporate eye monitoring for LCD projection systems, and continues to set the standard for ease-of-use in eye monitoring/tracking.

Over nearly two decades, Avotec innovations have introduced new tools for the rapidly changing MR world; the world’s only inert in-bore visual system, fiber optic subsystems, calibrated audio and visual systems, integrated patient communication, eye monitoring, affordable audio and visual solutions….
